Shivamogga: In a surprising turn of events, former Minister KS Eshwarappa has thrown a curveball by filing his nomination as an independent candidate for the Shivamogga Lok Sabha seat.

Accompanied by his wife Jayalaxmi, former minister Goolihatti Shekhar, former corporator Vishwas, and a host of supporters, Eshwarappa submitted his nomination papers to District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner Gurudatta Hegde.

What makes this move even more intriguing is that earlier in the day, Eshwarappa’s close aide and former corporator Vishwas had submitted the nomination on his behalf. This dual submission underscores the former minister’s determination and strategic approach to his candidacy.

In a display of strength and solidarity, Eshwarappa led a spirited procession with his supporters, culminating in a special pooja at Kote Anjaneya Swami temple.

This bold move comes in the wake of Eshwarappa’s disappointment over his son KE Kantesh missing out on the BJP ticket for the Lok Sabha seat from Haveri-Gadag segment. Blaming former CM BS Yediyurappa for his son’s exclusion, Eshwarappa minced no words in alleging that the BJP is under Yediyurappa and his sons’ control.

Vowing to break free from this perceived stranglehold, Eshwarappa declared his candidacy as an independent, emphasizing his commitment to championing Hindutva principles and reclaiming the party from what he sees as undue influence.
